Pakistani female officer gets prestigious French award

ISLAMABAD, Jul 19 (APP): A female Pakistani DMG officer has been awarded the prestigious French knighthood for distinguished and extra ordinary services for strengthening and promoting cooperation between the Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan and France. Mrs. Amna Imran Khan, a DMG Officer, was conferred the “Ordre National du Merite” by President Nicholas Sarkozy of France.
The Ambassador of France Daniel Jouanneau hosted an impressive award ceremony at the Embassy of France for conferring the prestigious award, basically meant for French Nationals, but in rare cases is also awarded to foreigners.

Amna Imran termed it a source of inspiration for the Pakistani females and a matter of great honor and pride for Pakistan.

The ceremony was attend by parliamentarians, diplomats, senior civil servants, business entrepreneurs, law enforcement officers, and prominent members of the civil society.
Prominent among the guests were former Prime Minister Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain, Chairperson Standing Committee of National Assembly on Law and Justice, Begum Naseem Akhter Chaudhary, High Commissioner of Australia, Tim George and other luminaries.
The Ambassador of France lauded the outstanding services of Mrs. Amna Imran Khan.
He appreciated the dynamic manner in which she pioneered a wide range ofprogrammes for capacity building of the Law Enforcement Agencies and Civil ArmedForces of Pakistan with the assistance of French Authorities.
The Ambassador highlighted rich experience of Amna Imran in her capacity as a public servant including her posting as Public Relations Officer with Prime Minister, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Assistant Commissioner, Islamabad, Abbottabad, Deputy Director Anti Narcotics force, Deputy Secretary Ministry of Interior, Joint Secretary to Prime Minister of Pakistan.
